Lim Chong Jin is the Founder of The Patterns Advisory, where he helps individuals and organisations navigate transformation and change. His career spans four decades across advertising, design, education and strategic advisory.

After 12 years in the high-stakes business of ideas and pitches, Jin moved from advertising into education. The initial, planned hiatus of 2 years became a 30-year commitment to nurture the next generation of creative talent, including star-studded alumni who went on to earn recognition at Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, The One Show and D&AD and other coveted accolades.
As former Director of the School of Design at Temasek Polytechnic, Jin led an award-winning school, leveraging on the collaborative energy and wisdom of its community. Jin also served as
Head of the BeyonDesign Centre and Creative Counsel. His immense contributions to education earned him national recognition in public administration. Across public and private sectors, Jin champions creative excellence, strategic insight and culture-shifting leadership. Jin believes meaningful breakthroughs rarely come from refining established knowledge; they emerge by intentionally intervening or disrupting established patterns.

He brings this philosophy to his work as a trainer, speaker, design consultant, external examiner, juror and teacher. Jin moves fluidly between practitioner and mentor-teacher; design strategist and idea explorer.
