Bechara Mouzannar

The Chairman of the Jury. Chief Creative Officer, Leo Burnett MENA

Bechara started his career at Publicis Conseil in Paris, then worked as a film director for three years, shooting more than a hundred commercials, before joining Leo Burnett, in the early 90s, as a CD in Dubai, then an ECD in Beirut, where he put his best efforts, with his teams, onto giving a human and  insightful voice to Lebanese Advertising, while pushing the limits of creative excellence.

As a result, Leo Burnett Beirut has constantly been across the years the most awarded Beirut-based agency in the world and was the first Lebanese ad agency to ever win a Lion in Cannes, a Gold in 2009.

That same year, Bechara got an EMBA from the Berlin School of Creative Leadership, which gave a new boost to his creative strategy.

In January 2011, Bechara Mouzannar was named Chief Creative Officer of Leo Burnett for the Middle East and North Africa (16 offices in ten countries).

Over the past seven years, he has substantially contributed to winning more than 700 international and regional prestigious trophies, mostly awarded to integrated campaigns that engaged large audiences and helped change the way the people think and feel.

At the Dubai Lynx 2015, Leo Burnett MENA won a double crown: Network of the Year, for the third time, in the last four years. And Agency of the Year, for Leo Burnett Beirut.

Leo Burnett MENA won as well 9 Lions in Cannes in 2015, including  two Golds, and was awarded three Facebook Awards (incl. 1 Gold) in a year that saw the LB MENA network win big at the D&AD, the ADC, the One Show and at the NYF.

In the Big Won Rankings 2012, Leo Burnett Beirut ranked the 6th most creative agency in the world. And Bechara ranked the 4th top CCO in the world for both years 2012 & 2014.

Yet he believes that 'we can only be as good as our latest campaign'.
