Video Craft

Entries in this category must represent exceptional skills in filmmaking of commercials aired on TV or online platforms. The creative implementation of the project is a main criteria. Projects for non-profit can be submitted in all subcategories.

Assessment weight: 30% insight and idea, 20% strategy, 30% creative solution and implementation, 20% results.

Evaluation Criteria: Relevance of the idea and insight; Originality and creativity of the idea and its execution (concept); Quality of campaign execution: design, content, technical implementation, etc; Depth of understanding of the target audience and its needs; Achieved results: reach, engagement, sentiment

Best Direction

Jury will evaluate the creative brief through the director’s vision and production elements such casting, set design, sound design and cinematography

Jury will look at how successfully the script delivers on the creative idea and supports the final execution

Best Music

Music composition that creates the necessary atmosphere and mood of the video

Best Visual Effects and Animation

Aesthetically and technically successful integration of effects and animation into the video (stop-motion, graphic, silhouette and computer animation in 2D or 3D)

Best Editing

Technically and creatively successful implementation of editing: musical and visual dynamics, integration of dialogues and images

Best Art Direction

The overall aesthetics of art direction. This includes decoration design, choice of locations, and the overall look, feel, and atmosphere of the video

Long-form content

The long formats of the commercials are evaluated, which allow you to reveal the brand or product in more detail.

Technical requirements

Submissions implemented by the agency and/or advertisers (brand) in the period from January 1, 2024 to September 1, 2025, but not previously participating in Red Apple, are accepted for participation in the competition.

Deadline for submission of works - September 3, 2025

Mandatory requirement - all submissions must be in English. 

Submission format:

1. Application in English (required):

- all fields of the application are required.

2. Video Case (required):

- in English or with English subtitles.

- provide a link to your video hosted on Vimeo, a resolution of at least 720p (preferably 1080p);

- maximum video duration: 3 minutes.

Additional files:

3. PDF Presentation (Recommended):

- no more than 15 slides;

- aspect ratio 16: 9.

4. Presentation board (optional):

- an image with key visual elements of the project and its description, .jpg, .png file (with a width of at least 1772 pixels, a resolution of at least 150 DPI);

- file size no more than 75 MB.

5. Audio file (required for EXCELLENCE IN AUDIO):

- mp3, 192 Kpbs;

- or a link to a video (Rutube or Vimeo) containing the original audio track and synchronized subtitles in English, at least 720p resolution).

6. Accompanying materials (required for Outdoor & Indoor):

- photo confirmation of the project implementation.

Attention!

It is forbidden to place the logo or the name of the agency in the work, including in the link, the name of the channel on the video hosting or in the name of the file. Jobs violating this rule will be disqualified.

Access to the material uploaded by the participants has: the organizing committee and members of the Jury.

A fragment of the video case can be used (can be displayed on the screen) during the award ceremony.
